Salah seorang pakar geologi dan Kepala Departemen Geologi pada Institute of Geosciences, Johannes Gutenburg University, Mainz, Germany. Professor Alfred Kroner diminta untuk mengomentari beberapa ayat Al Qur’an dan Hadist[1]. Ketika Professor Kroner ditanya tentang kondisi geologi daratan Arab, apakah dulunya daratan Arab penuh dengan tumbuh-tumbuhan dan sungai-sungai? Dia menjawab: “Ya selama zaman salju (Snow Age)”. Dan diketahui lebih lanjut bahwa iceberg di Kutub Utara secara perlahan-lahan bergerak menuju ke arah selatan. Ketika iceberg tersebut telah relatif dekat dengan semenanjung/daratan Arab, cuaca akan berubah dan daratan Arab akan menjadi salah satu bagian dunia yang paling hijau dan basah. Ketika Professor Kroner kembali ditanya “Akankah daratan Arab menjadi daratan yang penuh dengan tumbuh-tumbuhan dan sungai-sungai?” Dia menjawab: “Ya, hal itu merupakan salah satu fakta ilmiah (scientific fact)”. Mengapa dia katakan hal itu merupakan bukti ilmiah, karena menurut dia “Zaman Salju Baru (New Snow Age) sebenarnya telah dimulai.

Dia menambahkan bahwa kita dapat saksikan slaju bergerak sekali lagi dari Kutub Utara menuju ke arah selatan. Kenyataannya bahwa salju kutub utara sekarang sudah dekat menuju ke daratan Arab. Lanjut dia, kita dapat melihat tanda-tanda ini pada pergerakan salju “the snow blizzards striking the northern parts of Europe and America every winter”. Apa yang dijelaskan oleh Profesor Kroner tersebut baru diketahui oleh para ilmuan setelah melalui penemuan yang panjang dan dengan bantuan peralatan khusus. Umat Islam, telah mengetahui dan mempercayai hal tersebut sejak lebih dari 1400 tahun yang lalu berdasarkan sebuah hadist Nabi Muhammad SAW yang diriwayatkan dalam Sahih Muslim sebagai berikut:

“Hari Akhir tidak akan datang kepada kita sampai dataran Arab sekali lagi merupakan dataran yang subur (pasture) dan dipenuhi dengan sungai-sungai” (Shahih Muslim).

Tetapi sayangnya, meskipun Profesor Krone telah menyatakan bahwa wahyu yang turun dari atas merupakan satu-satunya jawaban mengenai dari mana Nabi Muhammad mengetahui hal tersebut , dan sekaligus dia mengetahui tentang kebenaran Islam, dia masih menolak untuk masuk Islam. Benarlah firman Allah dalam bahwa Allah telah mengunci mati hati mereka (QS Al-Baqarah ayat 7), maka ketika kebenaran tersebut datang sebagai peringatan tetaplah tidak akan beriman (QS Al-Baqarah ayat 6).

Primata Merupakan Makhluk Sosial

VIVAnews - Para ilmuwan kini mulai bisa memahami asal mula tingkah laku manusia. Berdasarkan analisa yang dilakukan terhadap 200 spesies primata yang dilakukan Universitas Oxford, diketahui bahwa primata berperilaku layaknya makhluk sosial.

Primata merupakan ordo biologi, di bawah kelas Mamalia. Kekhasan dari makhluk primata adalah memiliki lima jari dengan jari kuku yang bukan cakar, dan arah mata yang bersifat stereoskopik atau memandang ke depan, bukan ke samping. Termasuk di dalam ordo primata antara lain manusia, kera, monyet, orang utan, dan gorila.

Dalam studi yang dimuat jurnal ilmiah Nature, ilmuwan Oxford mengetahui proses kehidupan menyendiri (solitary) primata berakhir ketika primata beralih dari makhluk nokturnal (beraktivitas di malam hari), menjadi makhluk yang aktif di siang hari. Alasannya sederhana, kehidupan sosial mulai dilakukan untuk saling melindungi dari para makhluk pemangsa.

Ini berbeda dengan kehidupan komunal serangga atau burung, yang mulai membentuk komunitas sosial saat sang anak tak mau meninggalkan tempat kelahirannya. Karena itu kakaknya ikut membantu membesarkan adiknya yang tak mau meninggalkan sarang.

Dengan penemuan terhadap perilaku primata ini, ahli biologi evolusi menganggap penting proses pembentukan kehidupan sosial primata. Tim merujuk perubahan kehidupan non-sosial ke kehidupan sosial diperkirakan terjadi 52 juta tahun silam, yang terjadi dalam satu langkah: saat berubah dari makhluk malam menjadi makhluk siang.

"Jika Anda makhluk mungil yang aktif di malam hari, strategi terbaik adalah menghindari para pemangsa dengan cara sulit dideteksi," kata pemimpin tim Oxford, Suzanne Shultz, kepada BBC.

Sebelumnya, menurut Shultz, kaitan antara kehidupan sosial dan perubahan shift belum terungkap jauh karena para ahli biologi terlalu memfokuskan penelitiannya terhadap primata dari masa kuno, seperti baboon. Sebab, baboon memiliki karakteristik keterikatan terhadap kelompok betina, dan ini bukan karakteristik umum dari primata.

Di Jepang, situs jejaring sosial paling populer bukan Facebook --apalagi Friendster. Di Negeri Matahari Terbit, situs Mixi-lah yang jadi raja. Ternyata di balik Mixi adalah seorang Indonesia.

Cerita soal orang Indonesia di balik situs Mixi didapati dari seorang guide bernama Rita, saat wartawan detikOTO Dadan Kuswarahardja mengunjungi Tokyo, Jepang, dalam rangka Tokyo Motor Show.

Rita-san, orang Indonesia yang sudah menjadi Warga Negara Jepang, mengatakan di Jepang situs jejaring sosial yang populer memang bukan Facebook atau Friendster. Situs Mixi.jp lebih disukai karena menggunakan tulisan kanji yang hanya dimengerti oleh orang Jepang atau mereka yang secara khusus mempelajarinya.

Uniknya, Rita-san mengatakan, situs ini sebenarnya dibuat oleh orang Indonesia. "Ceritanya dulu dia kerja di Jepang, dia sering buka-buka Friendster pas kerja. Pas bosnya ngeliat penasaran, tertarik dan akhirnya bikin situs jejaring sendiri," tutur Rita-san.

Menurut Rita-san, situs Mixi kemudian menjadi populer dan disukai banyak orang di Jepang. Tentunya juga mendatangkan uang lewat iklan di dalamnya. "Bos ini kemudian membalas budi dan menjadikan orang Indonesia itu komisarisnya Mixi," tutur Rita-san.

Tentunya, cerita dari mulut ke mulut semacam ini bisa jadi penuh dengan distorsi dan bumbu-bumbu. Apalagi Rita-san kemudian tidak ingat nama orang Indonesia yang sukses di Negeri Sakura tersebut.

Penelusuran singkat yang dilakukan detikINET lewat Google, Rabu (28/10/2009), menemukan beberapa 'jejak' Mixi dan pembuatnya. Di Alexa, misalnya, Mixi memang menduduki posisi tinggi (no di Jepang. Facebook tak nampak di jajaran 20 besar situs di Jepang versi Alexa tersebut.

Pengembang Mixi pun terlacak dalam kehadirannya di MySQL User Conference 2006. Di sana nama Batara Kesuma --yang sangat 'Indonesia'-- tercatat sebagai pembicara, ia disebut sebagai lulusan Computer Science dari Takushoku University, Tokyo, dan pada 2006 tercatat sebagai Chief Technology Officer Mixi Inc.

Selain itu, nama Batara juga tercatat di Wikipedia sebagai Batara Eto. Disebutkan bahwa pria kelahiran 1979 itu telah menjadi Warga Negara Jepang sejak 2007 dan mengubah nama belakangnya menjadi Eto sesuai nama belakang Kakeknya yang merupakan orang Jepang. Namun tulisan di Wikipedia ini tidak menyebutkan sumber yang jelas.

Meski mungkin bukan lagi Warga Negara Indonesia, sukses Batara di Negeri Sakura bolehlah jadi teladan bagi generasi muda di Indonesia. Pada usianya yang relatif muda Batara telah sukses 'mengalahkan' Facebook di Jepang. Jika Batara Bisa, Anda juga bisa!

4 Spesies Hewan Purba Yang Masih Hidup di Indonesia

1.Buaya

Seperti telah kita ketahui bersama bahwa buaya merupakan salah satu hewan purba yang tersisa si bumi ini. Buaya merupakan hewan Karnivora yang dapat hidup di air dan daratan. Indonesia memiliki 7 spesies buaya dari total seluruh spesies buaya yang ada di Dunia.

Spesies buaya yang terdapat di Indonesia antara lain :

# Buaya muara (Crocodylus porosus) :

Buaya muara merupakan spesies buaya yang terbesar, terpanjang dan terganas di antara jenis-jenis buaya lainnya di dunia. Buaya muara juga memiliki habitat persebaran yang sangat luas, bahkan terluas dibandingkan spesies buaya lainnya. Buaya muara dapat ditemukan mulai dari Teluk Benggala (India, Sri Langka, dan Bangladesh) hingga Kepulauan Fiji. Indonesia menjadi habitat terfavorit bagi buaya muara selain Australia.

#Buaya irian (Crocodylus novaeguineae)

Buaya irian hanya terdapat di pulau Irian (Indonesia dan Papua Nugini). Bentuk tubuh buaya yang hidup di air tawar ini menyerupai buaya muara hanya berukuran lebih kecil dan berwarna lebih hitam.

#Buaya mindoro (Crocodylus mindorensis)

Buaya mindoro semula termasuk anak jenis (subspesies) dari buaya irian (Crocodylus novaeguineae) tapi kini buaya ini di anggap sebagai jenis tersendiri. Buaya mindoro di Indonesia dapat ditemukan di Sulawesi bagian timur dan tenggara.

#Buaya kalimantan (Crocodylus raninus)

Buaya kalimantan mempunyai ciri-ciri yang mirip dengan buaya muara. Lantaran itu buaya yang hanya dapat ditemui di Kalimantan Timur dan Kalimantan Selatan ini statusnya masih menjadi perdebatan para ahli.

#Buaya siam atau buaya air tawar (Crocodylus siamensis)

Buaya Siam diperkirakan berasal dari Siam. Buaya siam selain di Indonesia dapat dijumpai pula di Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Laos, dan Kamboja. Di Indonesia, buaya siam hanya terdapat di Jawa dan Kalimantan.

#Buaya sahul (Crocodylus novaeguineae)

Buaya sahul sebenarnya sama atau masih dianggap satu jenis dengan buaya irian. Namun oleh beberapa ahli taksonomi buaya sahul yang hanya tersebar di Papua bagian selatan ini diusulkan untuk menjadi spesies tersendiri.

#Buaya senyulong (Tomistoma schlegelii)

Buaya senyulong tersebar di Sumatera, Kalimantan, dan Jawa. Yang membedakan buaya senyulong dengan jenis buaya lainnya adalah moncongnya yang relatif sempit.

2.Komodo

Komodo, atau yang biasa disebut gengan biawak komodo (Varanus komodoensis), merupakan kadal terbesar di dunia dengan panjang tubuh mencapai 2-3 meter dan berat mencapai 70-140 kg. Ukurannya yang besar ini berhubungan dengan gejala gigantisme pulau, yakni kecenderungan meraksasanya tubuh hewan-hewan tertentu yang hidup di pulau kecil terkait dengan tidak adanya mamalia karnivora di pulau tempat hidup komodo, dan laju metabolisme komodo yang kecil. Karena besar tubuhnya, kadal ini menduduki posisi predator puncak yang mendominasi ekosistem tempatnya hidup.

Komodo merupakan dinasaurus purba yang hanya hidup (endemik) di Indonesia saja, tepatnya di Taman Nasional Pulau Komodo. Walaupun begitu komodo juga dapat ditemukan di dua pulau lain disekitar pulau komodo yakni, pulau Rinca dan Pulau Padar.

Rahasia Kadal Komodo hingga dapat bertahan selama 40 juta tahun ialah karena ia memiliki sistem pertahanan hidup alami yang terdapat pada kuku serta air liurnya. Air liur komodo s angat mematikan karena mengandung 66 jenis bakteri mematikan. Rhasia lain mengapa komodo dapat bertahan selama ini ualah karean cara bereproduksi komodo sangat istemewa. Komodo dapat bertelur tanpa adanya pejantan (partenogenesis).

3.Coelacanth (Raja Ikan Laut Purba)

Ikan raja laut atau Coelacanth merupakan ikan purba yang banyak hidup pada 360 juta tahun yang lalu. Ikan raja laut yang dikenal sebagai Coelacanth kini hanya tersisa dua spesies yaitu Latimeria menadoensis (Indonesia Coelacanth) dan Latimeria chalumnae (Comoro Coelacanth). Sedangkan berbagai jenis lainnya, sekitar 120 spesies, dinyatakan telah punah dan hanya ditemukan fosilnya saja.

Coelacanth adalah jenis ikan berparu-paru yang dipercaya sebagian ahli sebagai nenek moyang tetrapoda, yaitu nenek moyang binatang yang hidup di darat termasuk manusia. Ikan raja laut atau Coelacanth mempunyai habitat di lautan dalam, 700 meter di bawah permukaan laut. Meski terkadang ikan purba ini bisa berada dikedalaman laut 200 meter.

Pada tahun 1998, seekor ikan raja laut tertangkap jaring nelayan di perairan Pulau Manado Tua, Sulawesi Utara. Ikan jenis ini sebenarnya sudah umum dikenal oleh nelayan setempat namun belum terdiskripsikan hingga seorang peneliti Amerika yang tinggal di Manado, Mark Erdmann dan beberapa temannya termasuk ilmuan LIPI mempublikasikannya dan belakangan ikan raja laut ini disebut sebagai spesies baru, Latimeria menadoensis ( Coelacanth Sulawesi).

Antara ikan raja laut spesies Latimeria chalumnae (Coelacanth Komoro) dan Latimeria menadoensis (Coelacanth Sulawesi) mempunyai ciri-ciri yang serupa. Ekor ikan purba ini berbentuk seperti kipas dengan mata yang besar dan sisik yang terlihat tidak sempurna (seperti batu). Panjangnya mencapai 2 meter dengan berat mencapai 80-100 kg. Perbedaannya terdapat pada warna kulit Latimeria menadoensis yang berwarna coklat sedangkan Latimeria chalumnae berwarna biru baja.

4. Arwana

Menurut kelompok kuno Osteoglossids, ikan ini sudah ada pada periode Jurassic. Saat ini, mereka bisa ditemukan di Amazon, dan di beberapa bagian Afrika, Asia dan Australia

Kadang-kadang disimpan sebagai hewan peliharaan eksotis, arowana adalah predator rakus yang memakan binatang kecil yang dapat mereka tangkap, termasuk burung dan kelelawar yang mereka tangkap dalam penerbangan pertengahan (mereka bisa melompat hingga 2 meter (6 ‘6 “) ke udara) .

Di Cina, arowana terkenal sebagai “Ikan Naga” karena penampilan mereka, dan mereka dianggap Pembawa keberuntungan/Nasib Baik.

Membedah Tembang Ilir – Ilir (Sunan Kalijaga)

Karya besar (tembang Ilir-ilir) ini dibuat oleh Sunan Kalijaga, yang terkenal dengan dakwah Islam ala Jawa yang telah dikenal masyarakat pada zamannya hingga sekarang. Sunan Kalijaga ialah anggota Wali Songo (sembilan Waliullah) yang dikenal sebagai sosok bijaksana dan cerdas.Beliau adalah satu-satunya anggota Wali Songo yang asli keturunan Jawa. Oleh karena itu, dalam misi menyebarkan agama Islam, beliau menggunakan cara-cara kejawen yang mudah dimengerti oleh kalangan orang Jawa yang pada waktu itu masih ada pengaruh budaya Hindu. Dakwahnya tidak hanya dikenal di kalangan rakyat jelata, namun kalangan ningrat pun mengetahuinya. Oleh karena itu, beliau dikenal oleh kaum muslim yang fanatik sebagai pemimpin “Islam abangan”. Maksud “abangan” dalam konteks ini ialah (cara dakwah) tidak seperti Islam aslinya di Negeri Arab, khususnya dalam hal budayanya.

Kebijaksanaan dalam hal kebudayaan memang beliau ambil sendiri (diterapkan secara lokal). Bangsa Jawa saat itu memang murni Bangsa Jawa yang berkebudayaan Jawa, tidak perlu diganti dengan kebudayaan Bangsa Arab. Hanya dalam hal kepercayaan saja harus diganti dengan kepercayaan Islam, dengan pengertian yang dalam. Maka (pada waktu itu), seni dan kebudayaan Jawa tidak dihapus oleh Sunan Kalijaga, namun diberi warna Islam, upacara ritual seperti selamatan doanya diganti dengan doa Islam. Wayang kulitpun diubah sedemikian rupa bentuknya, sehingga tidak menyalahi hukum Islam. Hingga pada perjalanannya, beliau menghasilkan karya besar berbudaya Jawa dengan membuat tembang seperti Ilir-ilir dan Dandang Gula yang di dalamnya terdapat nilai-nilai dakwah.

Tembang Ilir-ilir ini akan kita kaji lebih dalam dalam pembahasan ini, karena di dalamnya banyak sekali pelajaran-pelajaran yang patut kita teladani. Berikut adalah syair tembang tersebut :

ILIR – ILIR

Lir-ilir, Lir-ilir,
Tandure wus sumilir,
Tak ijo royo-royo,
Tak sengguh penganten anyar.

Cah angon – cah angon,
Penekno blimbing kuwi,
Lunyu-lunyu penekno,
Kanggo mbasuh dodotiro.

Dodotiro – dodotiro,
Kumitir bedah ing pinggir,
Dondomana jlumatana,
Kanggo seba mengko sore.

Mumpung padang rembulane,
Mumpung jembar kalangane,
Yo suraka, surak hiyo.

Syair tersebut sangat indah jika kita merenungkannya secara mendalam.

Nasihat Dibalik Tembang ILIR – ILIR

Tembang ini mengandung nasihat bagaimana untuk menjadi muslim yang baik. Secara garis besar tembang tersebut berisi:

· Bait pertama menerangkan mulai bangkitnya iman Islam.

· Bait kedua ialah perintah untuk melaksanakan Rukun Islam yang lima.

· Bait ketiga tentang taubat, memperbaiki kesalahan-kesalahan yang pernah dilakukan untuk bekal kelak.

· Bait keempat menerangkan tentang adanya kesempatan-kesempatan (yang baik).

Berikut adalah uraian-uraian secara rinci :

Uraian “Lir-ilir Tandure Wis Sumilir”

Kata Lir-ilir berasal dari bahasa Jawa “Ngelilir” yang bahasa Indonesianya ialah terjaga/bangun dari tidur. Maksudnya ialah, orang yang belum masuk (agama Islam) dikatakan masih tidur / belum sadar. Pada tembang di atas, kata “Lir-ilir, Lir-ilir” (diulang sebanyak dua kali), maksudnya ialah “bangun-bangun”, bangun ke alam pemikiran yang baru, yaitu Islam.

Sedangkan baris “tandure wis sumilir”, terdiri dari :

“tandure” berarti “benih” yang ditanam.
“wis sumilir” berarti sudah tumbuh.

Jadi, baris “tandure wis sumilir” sama dengan benih yang ditanam sudah mulai tumbuh. Benih di sini berarti iman, yaitu iman Islam. Pada dasarnya semua manusia yang terlahir di muka bumi ini telah dianugerahi benih berupa iman oleh Allah swt. Disadari atau tidak bergantung pada orang-orang yang bersangkutan. Jika orang yang bersangkutan tersebut “sadar” akan adanya benih itu dalam dirinya dan mau merawat dengan baik setiap harinya, maka benih itu akan tumbuh subur, tentunya akan menghasilkan buah yang baik pula. Perawatan benih iman itu dapat berupa :

Membaca Al Quran atau bacaan-bacaan Islam lainnya.
Menghadiri pengajian.
Mendengarkan khutbah mimbar agama Islam
Menjalin hubungan baik / silaturrahmi dengan sesama.

Masih banyak lagi pupuk-pupuk (makanan rohaniah) lainnya, yang tentunya dilaksanakan dengan penuh keikhlasan.

Uraian “Tak Ijo Royo-Royo, Tak Sengguh Pengantin Anyar”

“Tak ijo royo-royo” – Dibuat tumbuh subur, daunnya hijau nan segar. Maksud kalimat tersebut nampaknya menekankan “penampilan” tentang pribadi muslim yang menyenangkan. Adanya benih iman yang selalu dirawat yang menjadikan pribadi muslim sehat jasmani dan rohani. “Ijo-royo-royo” merupakan lambang tanaman yang subur karena dirawat dengan baik.

“Tak sengguh penganten anyar” – pengantin baru. Pengantin ialah pasangan mempelai. Analogi ini disangkutkan dengan manusia atas keyakinan imannya, yang baru bertemu menjadi pengantin. Pasangan / pengantin baru ialah orang yang sangat berbahagia hidupnya. Begitu pula dengan “tak sengguh penganten anyar,” orang yang telah bersanding dengan keyakinan iman Islam.

Jadi, maksud dari “Tak ijo royo-royo, tak sengguh pengantin anyar” berarti benih iman seseorang yang dirawat dengan baik akan menghasilkan seorang muslim yang baik pula. Kebahagiaan seorang muslim di sini ibarat pengantin baru.

Iman yang kokoh yang digambarkan dengan “tak ijo royo-royo” tadi, haruslah selalu dijaga dan dirawat dengan baik. Tumbuhan bisa tidak “tak ijo royo-royo” lagi bila terkena hama. Analogi ini bisa kita kaitkan dengan iman seorang muslim.

Penjagaan iman supaya tetap kokoh haruslah mampu menghalau hama-hamanya (contoh : tindakan kemungkaran). Berjudi, mencuri, zina, minum minuman keras, dan sejenisnya merupakan hama iman yang harus segera dibasmi.

Uraian “Cah Angon – Cah Angon, Penekno Blimbing Kuwi”

“Cah angon” berarti anak gembala. Kata-kata tersebut diulang bahkan dua kali, yang berarti di sini terdapat penekanan, adanya perintah yang penting. Perintahnya yaitu : “penekno blimbing kuwi” (panjatlah belimbing itu). Perintah ini diberikan kepada bawahan / kedudukan yang lebih rendah dari atasan / kedudukan yang lebih tinggi. Analogi ini sepintas berkesan “orang tua yang memerintah anaknya.”

Mengapa yang harus diperintah ialah “cah angon?” Ada gembala, pasti ada yang digembalakannya. Arti cah angon (bukan hanya anak semata) ialah manusia. Manusia yang sebagai gembala menggembalakan nafsu-nafsunya sendiri. Nafsu-nafsu yang dimiliki setiap orang ini, kalau tidak digembalakan, bisa merusak dan tentunya banyak melanggar perintah / aturan agama. Pribadi manusia haruslah bisa berperan sebagai gembala yang baik. Intinya, “cah angon” merupakan sebutan yang diperuntukkan untuk seorang muslim yang menjadi gembala atas nafsu-nafsunya sendiri.

“Penekno blimbing kuwi.” Ini bukan berarti harus memanjat buah belimbingnya, namun “panjatlah pohon belimbing itu.” Perintah yang harus dipanjat ialah pohon belimbingnya (untuk meraih buahnya). Timbul pertanyaan, mengapa harus belimbing yang dijadikan contoh di sini, kok tidak durian atau strawberi? Kita tahu bahwa belimbing mempunyai 5 sisi. Nah gambaran ini sebenarnya merujuk kepada rukun Islam yang lima, yaitu :

(Dua kalimat) syahadat
Mendirikan sholat
Membayar zakat
Berpuasa Ramadhan
Menunaikan ibadah haji

Uraian “Lunyu – Lunyu yo Penekno kanggo Mbasuh Dodotiro”

Bahasa Indonesia dari “Lunyu-lunyu yo penekno” ialah “Meskipun licin, tetap panjatlah” (baris ini berhubungan dengan baris sebelumnya “Cah angon-cah angon, peneken blimbing kuwi”). Licin merupakan sebuah penghambat bagi si pemanjat. Haruslah memanjat dengan sungguh-sungguh dan hati-hati. Jika tidak, maka akan tergelincir jatuh.

Sama halnya dengan perintah agama. Jika tidak dilaksanakan dengan sungguh-sungguh, bukan tidak mungkin bila tergelincir ke neraka. Analogi secara kasat mata, jalan turun memang lebih mudah daripada jalan naik, jalan menuju neraka lebih mudah daripada jalan menuju ke surga. Bukankan minum minuman keras, judi, berzina, berdusta, memfitnah lebih mudah daripada mencegah kemungkaran, mengerjakan sholat dan berpuasa? Namun, bagi “cah angon” yang taat, perintah Allah untuk memanjat “blimbing” tadi bukanlah beban dan bukan sesuatu yang berat baginya (untuk meraih buah yang lezat, yaitu surga).

“Kanggo mbasuh dodotiro” mempunyai maksud : berguna untuk membersihkan atau mensucikan kepercayaan kita, hingga benar-benar menjadi kepercayaan yang suci. Dodot ialah pakaian kebesaran di lingkungan kraton. Dodot = pakaian. Analogi ini diibaratkan sebagai “kepercayaan.” Pada zaman “WaliSongo” dulu, banyak orang yang memeluk agama Hindu, Buddha, dan Animisme. Hal-hal seperti itu dicuci dengan “iman Islam” oleh WaliSongo, hingga jadilah agama yang bersih dan benar yaitu agama Islam. Salah satu pembersihnya yaitu rukun Islam yang lima.

Keterangan sebelumnya menerangkan bahwa “dodot” untuk menggambarkan agama atau kepercayaan yang dianut. “Kumitir bedah ing pinggir” artinya : banyak robekan-robekan di bagian tepi.

Berikutnya terdapat perintah “dondomana jlumatana” – dijahit/diperbaiki. Pakaian yang rusak tadi hendaklah diperbaiki agar pantas dipakai lagi. Demikian halnya dengan kepercayaan kita. Bila rusak (karena dosa-dosa yang telah dilakukan), hendaknya diperbaiki dengan jalan memohon ampun kepada Allah (taubat) dan melakukan rukun Islam sebaik-baiknya. “Kanggo seba” mengandung arti : “datang, menghadap Yang Maha Kuasa, yaitu Allah.” Sedangkan “sore” mengandung maksud “akhir dari perjalanan.” Akhir dari perjalanan manusia.

Jadi, maksud dari “Kanggo seba mengko sore” yaitu : “untuk menghadap Allah nanti bila perjalanan hidup sudah berakhir.” Hikmahnya yaitu bagaima kita melaksanakan perintah dalam mengamalkan rukun Islam dengan baik sebagai bekal untuk menghadap Allah kelak ketika hidup sudah berakhir.

Uraian “Mumpung Padang Rembulane, Mumpung Jembar Kalangane”

Terjemahan Bahasa Indonesia-nya ialah : “selagi terang sinar bulannya, selagi luas tempatnya.” terang bulan yang jelas saat malam hari.

Tanpa cahaya bulan pada malam hari (tanpa penerang apapun) akan gelap gulita, tidak dapat melihat apa-apa. Maksudnya, disaat “gelap” orang akan sulit (bahkan tidak mampu) membedakan yang haq dan batil (mana yang baik/benar dan mana yang buruk/salah/haram). Namun, pada suasana gelap itu sesungguhnya terdapat “sinar penerangan” dari cahaya bulan (Sinar Islam), sehingga bisa nampak jelas mana yang baik dan mana yang buruk, mana yang haq dan mana yang batil. “Mumpung jembar kalangane” – Luas cakupan sinar bulan, mampu menerangi daerah yang luas.

Jadi, maksud dari “Mumpung padang rembulane, mumpung jembar kalangane” adalah mumpung masih ada kesempatan bertaubat untuk meraih surga (menek blimbing) itu / untuk melaksanakan perintah agama, yaitu rukun Islam yang lima tadi. Hal ini dikarenakan dengan adanya Sinar Islam itu, kita bisa membedakan mana yang benar dan mana yang salah. Kesempatan yang baik dan luas itu jangan sampai disia-siakan begitu saja. Semua itu merupakan ajakan untuk seluruh umat manusia agar melaksanakan kelima rukun Islam dengan baik dan benar.

Uraian “Yo Surako, Surak Hiyo”

Baris di atas (mari bersorak-mari bersorak) ialah ajakan untuk bersorak. Sorak merupakan ekspresi kebahagiaan dan kesenangan bagi yang bersangkutan. Mengapa harus berbahagia? Tak lain ialah karena ia sudah berhasil melaksanakan perintah “Peneken blimbing kuwi, lunyu-lunyu ya peneken.” Bahagia atau senang ini diperoleh sebagai hadiah dari pekerjaannya “memanjat belimbing itu” (surga).

Inti dari baris tersebut ialah, mengajak “Si Cah Angon” (seorang muslim) yang telah melaksanakan perintah “peneken blimbing kuwi” dengan baik, untuk berbahagia karena akan memperoleh pahala yang berupa surga.

Studi banding anggota DPR ke luar negeri terus menuai protes. Kunjungan itu bak liburan masa reses yang menghabiskan uang rakyat, sementara hasilnya tidak jelas.

Komisi X yang membawahi olahraga, dan pariwisata, misalnya kedapatan berfoto-foto dan membeli tiket pertandingan Real Madrid di ke Stadion Santiago Bernabeu, Spanyol.

Lalu studi banding Komisi VIII ke Australia. Mereka hendak melakukan studi banding ke parlemen Australia, padahal parlemen di Negeri Kanguru itu sedang reses. Konyolnya lagi anggota DPR sempat membohongi mahasiswa Indonesia di sana soal email resmi Komisi VIII beralamat di komisi8@yahoo.com.

"Itu semakin memperjelas studi banding itu tidak ada gunanya. Itu hanya modus untuk jalan-jalan dan mendapatkan uang saku," ujar Kordinator Forum Masyarakat Peduli Parlemen Indonesia (Formappi) Sebastian Salang.

Banyak cerita minor tentang kelakuan wakil rakyat saat berkunjung ke luar ngeri. Pada 28 Juli 2005, Perhimpunan Pelajar Indonesia (PPI) Belanda memergoki anggota DPR dari Badan Legislatif jalan- jalan dan belanja barang mewah. Wakil rakyat pun terpotret sedang menenteng barang belanjaan merek Bally atau Gucci.

"Mereka tidak ada agenda di Belanda dan saat itu kami memang ingin menemui mereka untuk audiensi. Mereka 2 malam di Amsterdam," ujar mantan Ketua PPI Amsterdam 2004- 2005 Berly Martawardaya kepada detikcom.

Anggota DPR tidak mempunyai agenda resmi ke Amsterdam karena pada saat itu Parlemen Belanda yang berkedudukan di Den Haag juga sedang masa reses.

Hal senada juga dibeberkan mantan Ketua PPI Perancis Mahmud Syaltout. Sebelum mendatangi Amsterdam, anggota DPR itu sebenarnya hendak studi banding ke Perancis. Tidak jelas dalam urusan apa kunjungan itu. Namun, kedatangan anggota DPR itu telah jauh-jauh hari ditolak oleh PPI Perancis.

Ketua PPI saat itu (alm) Rudianto Ekawan, memerintahkan semua mahasiswa untuk datang ke KBRI Perancis dan melakukan aksi walk out serta membacakan surat protes atas kedatangan anggota DPR. Aksi ini diharapkan menjadi tamparan keras bagi wakil rakyat yang datang tanpa persiapan ke Perancis.

Anggota DPR tidak bisa memberikan penjelasan logis soal kedatangan mereka. Salah seorang juru bicara DPR menyatakan tujuan mereka untuk bertemu dengan mahasiswa-mahasiswa Indonesia yang pintar. Mereka juga memuji mahasiswa di luar negeri sebagai pemimpin bangsa dan juga merupakan konstituen mereka.

"Sebelum pidato selesai, teman saya, Rudianto AB interupsi dan membacakan surat protes dari PPI Prancis. Kemudian kita walk out. KBRI pun geger dan semua marah sama kita," cerita Mahmud.

Gara-gara kejadian itu semua jadwal kunjungan DPR di Belanda dan Belgia ikut dibatalkan. Akhirnya PPI Belanda memergoki para wakil rakyat itu asyik berbelanja.

Mahmud kembali menjadi guide untuk anggota DPR yang melakukan studi banding mengenai masalah anggaran ke Perancis pada 2006. Sebenarnya, kedatangan anggota DPR bukan ke Perancis, tetapi hendak menonton pertandingan final Piala Dunia di Jerman antara Italia melawan Perancis. Karena datang lebih awal, mereka menyempatkan diri melancong ke negeri mode tersebut.

Rombongan ternyata tidak hanya terdiri dari anggota DPR, tapi juga banyak terdapat anggota DPRD dari DKI Jakarta. Selama berada di Perancis, para wakil rakyat itu menghamburkan uang dengan berbelanja merek mahal semisal Louis Vitton, Pierre Cardin, dan membeli jam tangan mahal yang harganya dapat membiayai uang kuliah seorang mahasiswa selama setahun.

KBRI Perancis yang dipimpin oleh (alm) Arizal Effendi juga menolak memfasilitasi anggota DPR. Para anggota dewan dianggap sebagai rombongan liar.

Saat itu, salah seorang anggota DPR sempat meminta untuk dicarikan gadis panggilan di Perancis. Mahmud menjelaskan, di Perancis tidak ada pusat lokalisasi seperti Red Light di Belanda.Si anggota DPR kemudian meminta ditunjukkan pusat tarian striptis di Perancis. Mahmud pun menyarankan agar mereka pergi sendiri ke Moulin Rouge.

Saat akan kembali ke Jerman, ketua rombongan DPR itu nyeletuk ada yang kurang saat di Perancis. "Apa yang kurang, belum beli Hermes ya atau barang apalagi yang tidak ada?" kata salah seorang anggota rombongan menanggapi celetukan ketuanya. "Bukan, kita belum sempat foto-foto di Menara Eiffel," jawab si ketua santai.

Pada 2007, anggota DPR mendapat makian Guru Besar Ilmu Tata Negara Universitas Sorbon Perancis Prof Edmond Jouve. Saat itu, beberapa anggota DPR ke Perancis untuk melakukan studi banding tentang Kementerian Negara dan Dewan Penasihat.

Mahmud yang mahasiswa Ilmu Tata Negara pun meminta Jouve untuk menjelaskan sistem tata negara di Perancis dan Indonesia. Dalam pertemuan di KBRI Perancis itu, Jouve menjelaskan sistem tata negara Perancis dan Indonesia sangat berbeda.

Mendengar paparan itu, seorang anggota dewan nyeletuk mereka salah mendatangi Perancis untuk studi banding. Anggota dewan lainnya pun terbahak-bahak mendengar celetukan itu.

Melihat hadirin tertawa, Jouve bertanya. Penerjemah menjelaskan celetukan sang anggota dewan. Mendapat penjelasan itu Jouve marah. "Kalian semua goblok!" maki Jouve dalam bahasa Perancis.

Sang profesor lantas mengingatkan, Indonesia bukanlah negara kaya dan masih berada di dalam kategori negara berkembang, kenapa malah menghamburkan uang jika tidak ada hasilnya.

Listeria monocytogenes Karakteristik umum Bakteri ini merupakan bakteri Gram-positif, dan motil/bergerak dengan menggunakan flagella. Beberapa penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1-10% manusia mungkin memiliki L. monocytogenes di dalam ususnya. Bakteri ini telah ditemukan pada setidaknya 37 spesies mamalia, baik hewan piaraan maupun hewan liar, serta pada setidaknya 17 spesies burung, dan mungkin pada beberapa spesies ikan dan kerang. Bakteri ini dapat diisolasi dari tanah, silage (pakan ternak yang dibuat dari daun-daunan hijau yang diawetkan dengan fermentasi), dan sumber-sumber alami lainnya. Sebagai bakteri yang tidak membentuk spora, L. monocytogenes sangat kuat dan tahan terhadap efek mematikan dari pembekuan, pengeringan, dan pemanasan. Sebagian besar L. monocytogenes bersifat patogen pada tingkat tertentu. Gejala-gejala penyakit Listeriosis merupakan nama penyakit yang disebabkan oleh L. monocytogenes . Secara klinis, suatu penyakit disebut listeriosis apabila L. monocytogenes diisolasi dari darah, cairan cerebrospinal (cairan otak dan sumsum tulang belakang), atau dari tempat lain yang seharusnya steril (misalnya plasenta, janin). Dilaporkan bahwa gejala-gejala pada saluran pencernaan seperti mual, muntah, dan diare dapat merupakan bentuk awal dari listeriosis yang lebih parah, namun mungkin juga hanya gejala itu yang terjadi. Diagnosis Listeriosis hanya dapat didiagnosis secara pasti dengan cara membiakkan organisme ini dari darah, cairan cerebrospinal (cairan otak dan sumsum tulang belakang), atau kotoran (walaupun untuk kotoran, sulit dilakukan dan terbatas kegunaannya) Makanan terkait L. monocytogenes dikaitkan dengan makanan seperti susu mentah, susu yang proses pasteurisasinya kurang benar, keju (terutama jenis keju yang dimatangkan secara lunak), es krim, sayuran mentah, sosis dari daging mentah yang difermentasi, daging unggas mentah dan yang sudah dimasak, semua jenis daging mentah, dan ikan mentah atau ikan asap. Kemampuannya untuk tumbuh pada temperatur rendah hingga 3°C memungkinkan bakteri ini berkembang biak dalam makanan yang disimpan di lemari pendingin. Pencegahan Pencegahan secara total mungkin tidak dapat dilakukan, namun makanan yang dimasak, dipanaskan dan disimpan dengan benar umumnya aman dikonsumsi karena bakteri ini terbunuh pada temperatur 75°C. COLORADO, (PRLM).- Buah sejenis melon (cantaloupe) yang tumbuh di negara bagian Colorado, AS, diduga telah menjadi penyebab terjadinya wabah listeria monocytogenes yang menewaskan sedikitnya 13 warga setempat dan menginfeksi puluhan lainnya. Demikian diungkapkan Pusat Pencegahan dan Penanggulangan Penyakit (CDC) AS yang berpusat di Georgia itu, seperti dikutip AFP, Rabu (28/9). Menurut CDC, semua melon yang mematikan itu bermerek Rocky Ford yang berasal dari perkebunan Jensen di wilayah barat Amerika. Buah sejenis melon tersebut memang lazim tumbuh di wilayah Granada, Colorado, AS. Sejauh ini, kata otoritas CDC, korban yang tewas itu berasal dari bebagai wilayah di AS, yaitu, empat korban dari New Mexico, dua korban, masing-masing dari Colorado dan Texas dan masing-masing seorang berasal dari Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, dan Oklahoma. Sementara korban yang terinfeksi dan saat ini dirawat berasal dari 18 negara bagian di Amerika. Berdasarkan penelusuran CDC, jumlah korban yang terinfeksi mencapai 72 orang. Pemerintah Amerika dilaporkan sudah mengambil sejumlah upay untuk menyetop penyebaran wabah tersebut. Playing with BLOCKQUOTE and CSS : Dressing up Your Quatations

Using the blockquote tag can result in really boring looking quotations. After all, the standard format for blockquoted text is to be indented on the right and left about 40px. That's it. But with CSS we can do better. We can create blockquoted text that pops from your Web page and makes your quotes a useful design element, and not just more indented text.

Add a Border

A simple way to improve blockquoted text is to add a border around it. This tells your readers that they are looking at something special. For example, this CSS will put a 2 pixel wide black border around all blockquotes in a document:

blockquote { border : 2px solid #000; }

And as with any CSS border, you can make it dotted or dashed, make it wide or narrow, and change the color to make it match your page.

Blockquote Widths

But don't just stop with the border, the width of a blockquote can be defined with CSS. If you don't define it, the browser will define it, and that can result in a blockquote that takes up your entire screen. It's a good idea to define the width of your quotations, and this style call will define all blockquotes as 200px wide:

blockquote { width: 200px; }

Aligning Your Blockquotes

Once you have a narrower blockquote, you'll want your other text to wrap around it and move up to it without crowding. This style sheet will define all blockquotes as 200 pixels wide, and floating on the right, so all text will flow around them to the left:

But you'll also want to play with the margins and padding on your quotations if you're going to float them in the page so that there is not an excess of whitespace near your quotations:

Blockquote Backgrounds

One of the easiest ways to get your quotations to stand out is to change the color of the background. Now, with CSS you can use an image as a background or you can simply change the color. Sometimes changing the color is all that is required to bring attention to your blockquote:

If you're using blockquote as it's supposed to be used, then you may need quotations to precede and follow the quotation. And with CSS2 you can do this (try this out in an XHTML compliant browser, like Mozilla or Firefox):

*Update (16 August 2007) Just to clarify, the rest of this entry is my attempt at some humour, so take it with a pinch of salt! For some tongue-in-cheek blogging advice, read on…

I think that ProBlogger’s campaign is a great idea, yet the title hints at a small dilemma – it takes a whole month. Thirty one days. Seven hundred and forty four hours. Forty four thousand six hundred and forty minutes!

Now, you see, the problem is that I am lazy and and I know you are too.

We are the sort of people who climb over those ribbon-barriers in the bank instead of walking the zigzag. We park on the sidewalk, use the elevator and have never even considered replacing an empty loo roll. Never.

So, to make life a little easier, I have decided to save us all some time by compiling a minute-by-minute schedule for building a better blog in just over half an hour.

Make sure you have an ample supply of beverages at your disposal. Set your stopwatch, you wouldn’t want to overwork yourself now.

Here goes:

Hydrate. Grab a delicious beverage of your choice. This will reveal a lot about who you really are and inspire you to blog from the heart. Remember, if you are over 18 you may be downing a cold one, but this could affect your judgment during the remaining 30 minutes…
Check your RSS Feeds for some fresh inspiration. “Inspiration” is such a long word, so you can call it “inspo” if you like.
Open all RSS links in your browser until each tab is only about 20 pixels wide. Since we all have different ideas about what constitutes “interesting links”, make sure the last tab is BBC News or the likes, so you can quickly switch to that and avoid suspicion if your boss/spouse/mom walks by.
Log in to your blog and create a new entry.
Come up with a good title for your new post. Make sure it contains some of the following words: Lindsay, Lohan, Nude, Pictures, Harry, Potter, iPhone, Simpsons or Pimpmobile. This is purely for SEO (search engine optimisation) purposes.
You’re probably getting thirsty by now. Dehydration is a real risk for devoted bloggers, so feel free to grab another beverage.
Start off your entry by explaining how busy you have been lately and why your readers should understand your lack of recent updates.
If you want to look professional, a good idea is to find a suitable quote for the intro.
At this point, you will need some tunes, so launch your media player of choice and crank it up. I would suggest something classical.Blink182 – Enema of the State would be a safe choice as it comes to about 35 minutes in total.
Flick through all those web pages you opened and copy the links to your blog entry.
Make sure you have an overwhelming list of links. People will love this, because instead of them having to surf the web for cool stuff, they can just link to your blog. This is called linkbaiting.
Write a short outro for your new blog entry. Make a clever comment or two. It is always a good idea to place a question mark right at the end. This will trick visitors into commenting on your blog. The more comments you have, the better your blog will look.
Hydrate. Don’t fight the feeling, I know you’re ready for another beverage. You can call it a “bevvie” if you like.
Ok, we’re about half way now and we have been doing some serious hydrating, so you might want to take a quick toilet break. Don’t be tempted to replace the toilet roll, this will only waste precious blogging time.
Read over your new blog entry. Ok, who are we kidding, just scan it.
Publish it. Get that sucker online, don’t waste time!
While waiting for the readers to come flooding, stretch your legs a little. If you are enjoying the music, why not take this opportunity to turn up the volume.
Check your Google Analytics. Nothing yet? Well, it has only been 2 minutes.
Send an email to your mom, reminding her to check your blog. Don’t forget to CC all contacts in your address book.
Check Google Analytics again… just in case, you know?
While you’re at it, it may be worth doubling the amount of ads on your blog. This post is probably going to be your big break in the blogosphere, so don’t compromise, monetize!
Try creating some extra space for ads by going through your blogroll and deleting some of your friends.

Take a look at your blog online. Admire it for a while. Click all the links.
Check Google Analytics. Hey, 1 visitor! Cool! Oh, wait, that was you…

Checking the del.icio.us popular page today, I noticed this page, which had already been tagged 923 times and rising. No knock against the person who wrote it but...it's just a list of a half-dozen or so AJAX tutorials.

I mean, can viral marketing really be this easy?

A killer, comprehensive resource like the SEOMoz Ranking Factors page gets 882 del.icio.us tags, and a links page listing seven AJAX tutorials eclipsed it easily in a few days (although SEOMoz's Web 2.0 awards had significantly wider appeal).

And, of course, it's been Dugg.

So what's the lesson here? I guess that getting Del.icio.us and Digg traffic by writing about AJAX is easier than your sister on prom night. I suppose the other lesson is get linked to by Scoble.

Here's something that's both inspired by, and a commentary on, that post. It's a short list of the best viral marketing info I've come across online.

First, a quick rundown on what makes an idea viral by the guy who essentially invented the term, Seth Godin.

Second, Todd Malicoat (stuntdubl) has an excellent post on viral marketing from an SEO perspective(commonly referred to as linkbait).

Third, Graywolf has some good ideas on how to get Dugg even if you're (gasp!) not writing about AJAX.

From what I've heard, Digg traffic doesn't have much commercial value, since Digg users don't tend to buy anything, click on ads, or do anything else that might make you money. They arrive, read your stuff, and then move on (possibly knocking your site offline in the process if you weren't prepare for the influx of traffic). Tech-recipes breaks down what you should know about Digg traffic.

Finally, CopyBlogger has a great free PDF ebook on viral marketing with blogs.

With blogging, going viral doesn't necessarily mean big bucks. The financial benefit of going viral typically doesn't lie with selling to or otherwise monetizing the traffic itself, but rather with the increased exposure that might result in a large number of sites linking to you (especially bloggers).

That boost in incoming links can then nicely translate into your site ranking higher for those keywords that actually will bring in paying customers.

Social bookmarking sites like delicious.com are rapidly becoming important to search engine optimization, though for a slightly different reason than most people might suspect.

Links from sites like delicious.com aren't worth a whole lot from a search engine perspective, since they use the "noarchive,nofollow,noindex" robots meta tag at the top of the bookmarks pages.

However, these social bookmarking tools can be used to drive traffic to your site, if they're used correctly. The way to do that is to tag your pages with the keywords relevant to them. This especially can be used to increase the exposure of new blog posts.

Let's say you have a blog about ringtones. After making a blog post, post it to your delicious account and tag it with keywords like "ringtones", "cellphone", and "mobile."

A link and description will then show up on the following pages:

Getting listed on the delicious.com "popular" page can potentially send you a huge amount of traffic, but getting there is not easy, since you have to be creating something that a large number of people will find tag-worthy.

As you can see, the link-building effect of a site like delicious.com is indirect.The links from delicious.com confer no ranking benefit in themselves, but they can be used to send traffic to your site, and if you have something good to offer, a certain number of the people coming to your site are going to link to you.

However, the traffic boost will be non-existent if the content is mediocre, and even good content will often be ignored if it doesn't catch on with a large group of people. While a site like delicious.com can be used to increase the exposure of your site, if you're going to be tagging your own pages, you should save it for those pages you find really exceptional. Otherwise, you're just increasing the clutter on the site, and boring pages are not likely to result in any increase in traffic or links.

In Medieval times, they sought out ways to cut back on crime. Instead of letting the criminals sit in a jail cell, like today, they would use different torture devices. These devices came in all shapes and sizes and were meant to scare other would be criminals into not doing the crimes committed by the person being tortured. Let’s check these weird torture methods

The Brazen Bull

This device was designed in Greece by Perillos of Athens. He was a brass founder and he cast the shape of a hollow bull with a door on the side. This condemned person was shut in the bull. There was a fire lit underneath the device and because it was brass it became yellow hot, which would cause the person to roast to death. It was configured with tubes and stops, so when the person was screaming it would sound like the bull was raging.

The Breaking Wheel

This wheel of torture was used to kill criminals and it did that very slowly. This device was a large wagon wheel. The criminal would be tied to the wheel, where the punisher would proceed to use a hammer to break the bones of the other person. Once that was completed, they were left there to die and even the birds would peck at their flesh until death was complete.

The Rack

This device is an oblong rectangle with a wooden frame. It was raised from the ground with a roller either at one end or at both ends. One end had a fixed bar, where the feet were locked onto it, and the other end had a moveable bar, where the hands were tied to it. It had a lever that was used as the interrogation progressed. It was on a lever and pulley system that would eventually cause the joints of the person being tortured to dislocate and then separate. Eventually, the muscle fibers userbin, ligaments, and cartilage would break separating the limbs from the body of the condemned.

Judas Cradle

This torture device is a pyramid shaped seat. The victim is placed on top of it, with the point inserted into an orifice, then they are very slowly lowered onto it. The condemned was usually naked in order to add to their humiliation. This device was thought to stretch the orifice or to slowly impale the person. The stretching of the orifice would cause pain, rips and tears, which would eventually cause death.

Coffin Torture

This device was used in the Middle Ages. The condemned would be placed in the metal coffin and left there for the appropriate amount of time. Depending on the crime, the person could be left in there to die, while animals ate their flesh or they would be placed on public display, which would cause their death. The people that would surround the person in the coffin would throw rocks and poke the person with objects until they finally became deceased.

Iron Maiden

This iron cabinet with a hinged front was made to be a tall upright cabinet that would enclose a human being. It would have a small opening, which was closeable, so the interrogator would be able to open and close it at their will. They would then poke the bodies of the person with a sharp object. They would use knives, spikes, or nails and the person inside was forced to remain standing in one position, ultimately causing their demise.

The Knee Splitter

The whole purpose of this device was to make a person’s knees useless. It was used in mainly during the Inquisitional period of time. This device was faceted with spikes, from three to twenty of them, and depending on the crime committed, depended on the number used. IT had a handle the torturer would use to close the device. The spikes would mutilate the skin and begin to crush the knee. They would also use the device on elbows, arms and the lower legs. There were even instances that they would heat the device to cause a maximum amount of pain. Death wasn’t a result of this device, but it the person refused to cooperate they would use other means.

Heretic’s Fork

This device was used during the Spanish Inquisition. It has two forks at opposing ends of a metal rod. One of the forks would be placed under the chin, piercing the skin, and the other end would be piercing the flesh in the upper chest. It didn’t puncture any vital organs, so death would not take place during the use of this method, but it made talking and neck movements impossible. While wearing this device a person’s hands would be tied behind their backs, so they could not escape it. It would harm the person’s neck and, often times, spread diseases.

Saw Torture

This method was used to torture and kill the condemned person, which were typically accused of witchery, adultery, murder, blasphemy, or theft. The accused was hung upside down. This slowed down the blood loss by forcing the blood to the brain and it humiliated the person. This type of torture could last for several hours. Some of the victims would be cut completely in half, while some would only be cut up to their abdomen in order to prolong their deaths.

This was used to get a confession from the offenders. The fingers of the person were placed in the device and crushed by the torturer turning the handle on the top. It could last for a very long time and it was very painful. This was also used to crush a person’s toes. They even made bigger versions of this device used to crush feet, knees, elbows and even heads.

VIVAnews - Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) tak mau berpolemik soal pembangunan Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Nuklir (PLTN) untuk mengatasi krisis energi nasional. PLN ingin fokus mengembangkan energi alternatif lain selain nuklir.

"Daripada nuklir, lebih baik PLN mengembangkan energi alternatif lain yang sudah ada di depan mata," kata Direktur Bisnis dan Manajemen Resiko PLN, Murtaqi Syamsuddin, di Garut.

Menurut Murtaqi, salah satu sumber energi terbarukan yang sedang dikembangkan PLN adalah panas bumi. Dalam Rencana Umum Penyediaan Tenaga Listrik 2010-2019 PLN menargetkan penambahan kapasitas Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Panas menjadi 5.990 MW pada 2019.

"Selain itu PLN juga akan mengembangkan air, angin dan matahari," ujarnya.

Seperti diketahui gempa dan tsunami Jepang telah menimbulkan ancaman bahaya radiasi yang disebabkan oleh kerusakan PLTN Fukushima Daiichi. Tingkat radiasi pun akibat kerusakan ini menyebar hingga sekitar 30 kilometer barat laut dari pembangkit. Pemerintah Jepang menginstruksikan penduduk yang tinggal dalam radius 20 sampai 30 kilo meter dari PLTN untuk tinggal di dalam rumah.

Pemerintah Jepang juga menaikkan level bahaya radiasi Nuklir ke level lima menurut International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale (INES). Level ini sama dengan yang terjadi dalam kecelakaan Three Mile Island pada 1979. Level 5 merupakan yang tertinggi ketiga dari level 8 skala maksimal dalam INES dan yang terburuk untuk kecelakaan nuklir yang pernah terjadi di Jepang selama ini.

Akhirnya FIFA menyetujui LPI (?)

Kabar bahwa FIFA meminta PSSI agar membubarkan Liga Primer Indonesia (LPI) ternyata bohong semata. Informasi yang benar, FIFA meminta PSSI untuk mengesahkan LPI agar memiliki legalitas.

Demikian disampaikan oleh Duta Besar RI di Swiss Joko Susilo usai bertemu Presiden FIFA Sepp Blatter, Selasa (8/3/2011) malam. “PSSI harus merangkul LPI. Jika tidak dilakukan, FIFA akan memberi sanksi kepada PSSI,” kata Joko Susilo.

Ditambahkannya, FIFA memberi batas waktu agar menyelesaikan masalah LPI sebelum Kongres Luar Biasa PSSI akhir bulan April 2011. “Ya, sebelum kongres, makanya semua pihak harus duduk bersama,” jelas Joko.

Pernyataan Joko Susilo ini sekaligus menepis infomasi yang selama ini beredar bahwa FIFA meminta PSSI agar membubarkan LPI. Termasuk membantah pernyataan anggota Komite Etik FIFA yang sekaligus utusan PSSI, Suryadharma Dali Tahir. “Pemerintah harus menghentikan LPI, jika tidak, PSSI yang akan diberi sanksi,” kata Dali Tahir beberapa waktu lalu.

Sekadar diketahui, sejak Januari 2011 lalu, PSSI sudah berulangkali menjatuhkan sanksi kepada aparat yang berhubungan dengan LPI. Misalnya wasit, pemain, pelatih, dan klub. Hanya saja, sanksi PSSI ternyata tidak mempan. Kompetisi yang digagas pengusaha Arifin Panigoro itu terus saja bergulir.

Usaha PSSI untuk mendeportasi pemain asing LPI juga gagal. Kondisi itu bisa terjadi karena LPI mendapat rekomendasi dari Menpora melalui BOPI.

Typing "nmap -help" will provide you with a FULL list of nmap's commands but since you

want to use it particularly for port scanning and finding what ports are open and

what runs on them i will only explian the relevant commands. As to explain them all

would take literally hours.

Firstly, to explain what it is we are doing. Ports are numbers that TCP/IP uses to

map packets to services.

For example some common ports are:

21 FTP

22 SSH

23 TELNET

25 SMTP

80 HTTP

110 POP3

When scanning hosts there are a lot of options you may want to use to find more

information about the target. Here are the most commonly used options:

-sS TCP SYN scan

-sT TCP connect scan

-sU UDP port scans

-v Verbose output

-vv very verbose output

-O Detect operating system

-sV Service version detection

-P0 Dont ping, just scan

-p Choose your ports

-F Fast scan

For example by scanning:

nmap -vv -P0 192.168.0.3

Would scan the IP 192.168.0.3, print very verbose output, and to scan the machine

without pinging it.

nmap -O 192.168.0.3

This would do an OS version detection on the target host(TCP/IP finger-prinitng).

nmap -p 1234 -O -sV 192.168.0.3

This scan would scan port 1234 and see if it was open, as well as an OS version

detection.

You can also make nmap save log files when outputing commands. These options are:

-oN This logs to a normal file like you see on nmap (human readable).

-oX XML output (open with webbrowser)(i use this one).

For example by scanning:

nmap -oX mylog.xml 192.168.0.3

Would scan the host, then in the nmap program file folder save a file named mylog.xml,

with the results of the scan in it.

Nmap has some commands to decoy where your scan is coming from.

For example:

-D Add decoy IPs to confuse the target's logs

When the decoy option is used nmap will send spoofed packets from the IP address

that you specify. This will confuse targets logs as it will look like many different

machines are actually doing a port scan and it will make it hard for the administrator

to decipher which IP is actually doing the portscan (yours).

For example:

nmap -P0 -D microsoft.com,ME,google.com 192.168.0.3

This command wont ping, uses decoys of microsoft.com and google.com and ME is your

real IP address (required).

planning your show
Before you even begin reaching for the computer, you should sit down with some old fashioned pencil and paper to plan your slide show. Do it as a list, an outline, or even a series of simple sketches. Whatever works best for you.

For each slide in your show, give it a simple identifier name. For example, when I was creating the short slide show from my trip to the Grand Canyon (used as the jClicker demo), I might create a list of slides:

campground

Each item corresponds to a JPEG image that I have either (legally) acquired from the Internet, scanned from a photograph, captured with a digital camera, or perhaps created on the computer.

You should also write a short caption for each slide, and a descriptive short title that will appear from the navigation menu.

a bit about frames
The jClicker uses web page frames. A web page with frames allows you to chop up the screen area into separate pieces, into which different pages may be loaded. It's like making one page be the composite of several others.

There are some problems for designing web sites with frames (inability to bookmark invidual pages, counter-intuitive navigation for the browser back buttons, problems for people with accessiblity challenges). However, the jClicker is not "normal" web content that would create these problems, and the frame meatphor is appropriate for a control area that must be always visible. We have incorporated appropriate code into the jClicker so someone unable to use frames can still access a file listing of the images.

For the jClicker web pages, we are using two frames:
The slide frame holds the main display. Think of it as the "screen" onto which we are projecting our slideshow.

The clicker frame in the bottom is our control panel. Depending on what actions we take, the clicker frame tells the slide frame what to display.

setting up your files
The first thing you will want to is create a folder/directory to contain your slide show. You may name it anything that you like. For example, let's call it:

Now let's review what each of these files do...

index.html
This is the file that sets up the layout of the frames. It sets up the following regions of our display:

open.html
This file creates the opening screen of your slide show and appears in the slide frame. The format for this screen is created automatically by the jClicker.

clicker.html
This file provides all of functionality that is built into clicker frame. There is nothing to edit here as it is merely a template.

myshow.js
This text file (an external JavaScript file) includes parameters you can edit to design your slide show, including image file names, captions, etc. It is read by the clicker.html file when it loads. We'll go into more detail in a later section.

clicker_control.js clicker_functions.js
These files contain all of the JavaScript programming code that make it work. There is nothing you need to do with these files, just make sure you have them!

dark.css light.css
These files are Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) documents, specifications for formatting the background color, text that appears on the title screen and the slide captions, as well as the box that surrounds the displayed image. If you are familiar with CSS, you can easily customize the appearance by editing these text files. If not, just leave them alone! There are two different versions, dark.css and light.css to format slide shows with dark or white backgrounds.
organizing your images
You will need to gather the graphics files that will be displayed for your slide show. They should all be in web page image formats such as GIF, JPEG, or PNG. You can download images from the web, create them with a digital camera / scanner, copy them from clip-art CDs, or create them in a graphics program on your computer.

How you get them is up to you, just be responsible and do not use someone else's images without their permission!

Visitors to your slide show will very much appreciate if you use optimal comrpession on your photographs. Desktop software can easily reduce the file size of your images by a factor of 10 without sacrificing quality. For more help in learning how to shrink download time for your images, see:

Note that the jClicker is specifically designed so that it only will load the images requested- you may have 1000 images in your slide show, but a viewer does not have to eait for all 1000 to download before they can watch the show. As you are viewing one image in the slide show, the jClicker will pre-load the next image ahead of time so it can be seen more quickly.

NOTES: The names of the files must exactly match the names you listed; the file names are case-sensitive from a web server (e,g, a file named "Fall-Colors.jpg" is not the same as one named "fall-colors.jpg")

The file names for your images should exactly match the names you wrote in your outline (see the planning your show section). For example, in our Grand Canyon example, our slide image files are:

This is where you should put all of your slide image files and HTML files for non-image content.
configuring the jclicker
The last thing you need to do is to customize the jClicker for your very own slide show. This is done by editing some of the JavaScript code in the myshow.js file. But don't worry if you're worried about having to know anything about JavaScript! All you are doing is editing a text file. We've set up the code so it should be clear as to what exactly you do. You can follow our steps here as well.

NOTE: When editing your myshow.js file, we recommend that you use the basic text editor that comes on your computer, meaning the Windows NotePad for PC users, SimpleText for Macintosh OS 9 and older, or TextEdit for Mac OSX. Other worthwhile (and free) tools include EditPad Lite for Windows, BBEdit Lite for Macintosh.

As a starting point, you can look at the way we set it up in the example template file for the Grand Canyon slide show. We will review the 7 sections that you will need to edit.

NOTE: If you have created a jClicker slide show using our a previous version of our template, you will have to do some copy paste work to update your slide shows. Our newer version does not require you to number the items, making it easier to build, edit, and modify.

(1) SET UP THE SLIDES
The jClicker needs to know three things about each of your slides:

The image file name. The jClicker assumes the image files are stored in the images folder.
A short text description used on a navigation menu that allows the viewer to jump to any slide.
A caption string that is displayed with the image.

The format expected for each slide consists of 4 separate lines of data that are the three items listed above plus an extra line of code ic++; that increments the counter for keeping track of your slide show. The order of each set as listed is the order in which the slide show will run.

The ic code in the [ ] brackets is a placeholder for the logical that counts the number of slides. Note also that slide file names, menu titles, and captions must be in single quotes. Avoid using apostrophes (single quotes, e.g. ' ) in your slide titles- if you must have one, it must be preceded with a backslash, \' (the backslash will not appear).

If you ever need to delete a slide, just remove its four lines of code. Likewise, to re-arrange the order, you merely move the four lines to the desired location in the slide show. This makes modifcations very easy!

(2) SET UP THE TITLE PAGE
The jClicker automatically creates a title page for your slide show, with text you provide in this section.

You can also specify how long the delay is when the jClicker runs in auto-advance mode. The number entered here is time in milliseconds, so each increment of 1000 represents 1 second of delay time. Note that this is the minimum amount of time between slide advances; the jClicker will not advance until the image of the current slide is fully loaded (shown by the indicator graphic in the bottom part of the jClicker).

(4) SET THE BACKGROUND MODE
The jClicker can display the slides against a light or a dark background, as indicated by this variable. A value of true tells the jClicker to use a light color background and a value of false will result in a dark background for your slide show.

general format example

var light_mode = false;

These settings also tell the jClicker with external Style Sheet to use for the formatting.

(5) SET CAPTION ALIGNMENT
The jClicker can place the captions above the slides, below the slides, to the left of the slide, or to the right of the slide. You specify this using the values defined for cap_align:

1 = captions centered above the picture
2 = captions to the left of the picture
3 = captions to the right of the picture
4 = captions center below the picture

general format example

(6) SET THE STARTING SLIDE
By default, a jClicker slide show starts with a title page that is generated based on the configuration in section (2). However, if you want your slide show to start with a specific slide, you can use this area to indicate which one appears first. A typical example would be a long slide show where you recently added a series of images, and you would like viewers to start at the top of the most recent images.

The default value is 0 which tells the jClicker to start with a title page. In the second example below, we have instucted the jClicker to start with slide number 94.

general format example

(7) OPTIONAL BUTTONS
You can use the next settings the determine whether extra functional buttons appear as part of your slide show controller. All jClicker slide shows have a forward and backward buttons plus a drop down menu for navigation. The buttons you can hide if desired, include:

Close Window button
If you set up the link that opens your slide show to do so in a new browser window, this button provides an easy way for the viewer to exit the slide show and thus see the web site where they had come from previously.
Help button
This button will display a pop-up window with a brief description of how the available buttons on the jClicker work.
Resize buttons
Two buttons that allow the viewer to increase or descrease the size of a displayed image 20% for each click of the button.
Autoshow checkbox
The feature that allows the viewer to see a slide show that advances automatically every few seconds and loops endlessly.

A value of true tells the jClicker to display a button and a value of false will hide it.

(8) SHOW IMAGE FILE NAME
This setting is useful when you are editing and previewing your slide show. Setting a value of true tells the jClicker to append the name of the image file below the caption, so you can track which image is currently in view. When the slide show is complete, return this to a value of false so the image file names do not appear as part of your captions.
